Greg,
              Also,   Arachne can be restarted in
the DOS shell by entering "arachne".  It just
loads the LOCK file which is there to stop
you from running 2 copies of Arachne at
the same time. If  you remove the LOCK
file, Arachne will run but I don't know what
errors you might encounter and I don't
recommend running Arachne that way.
