I don't think it's an issue borrowing or using someone else work within ATEP
accreditation. After all intiation is the sincerest form of flattery. I do
feel that if it's used the institution or person should get the credit for
it being used by the institution getting the accreditation. It just like we
athletic trainers refer to Lachman, Hawkins-Kennedy, or Thompson when doing
special test. The credit is sited everytime we teach/perform those test. It
better if you can take the instutions prototype and improve on it or make it
work for your particular program/situation, and still give the credit wher
credit is due. To me, it's plain sloppiness or lazyness when the same typos
and mistakes occur when copying....at least proof read the work first.
I have always believed don't reinvent the wheel when it isn't necessary. If
you can improve on an idea, do it; if people didn't want their work to be
seen, then I don't beleive it would make accessable via the net. This does
allow for open exchange of ideas. Credit should be acknowlegded for the
person/s who created the original.
