Anthony,
There are a few older studies in the Journal regarding exam success
predictors. Here are three studies I am aware of:
(1) Platt, L. S., Turocy, S., & McGlumphy, B. E. (2001). Preadmission
criteria as predictors of academic success in entry-level athletic
training and other allied health education programs. Journal of
Athletic Training, 36(2), 141-144. (**uses SAT scores**)
(2) Middlemas, D. A., Manning, J. M., Gazzillo, L. M., & Young, J.
(2001). Predicting performance on the National Athletic Trainers'
Association Board of Certification examination from grade point
average and number of clinical hours. Journal of Athletic Training,
36(2), 136-140. (**GPA was single-best predictor of exam success**)
(3) Harrelson, G. L., Gallaspy, J. B., Knight, H. V., & Leaver-Dunn,
D. (1997). Predictors of success on NATABOC certification examination.
Journal of Athletic Training, 32(4), 323-327. (**looked at a number of
variables, including ACT**)
Best wishes on your study!
