How to post HTML content using blogger.newPost()

I am using XML-RPC java library for posting to blogger.
When I call blogger.newPost with HTML formatted text as
"content" it
throws a DataStoreException.

Has anyone written the blog client in java using blogger API
(not Atom)
and succeeded in posting the HTML content?
