After small changes in the cmu-user.tex all bookmarks in the
pdf are displayed 
correctly. See attachment.

In what way are the bookmarks in pdf displayed incorrectly? 
I do know
that when I build on OSX with a recent version of teTex that
the
bookmarks are messed up.  However, on a much older version
on Solaris,
the bookmarks look correct.

Thanks for the patch.  This works much better than before,
and I'll
check it in when the CVS repository is fixed.
