Does the gmane interface work?

Hi,

I tried to send a message two days ago via the gmane
newsserver and it 
doesn’t seem to get through. Is there something wrong there?

Anyway, this was my question:

Could I please get a link to or instructions for installing
McCLIM for 
MCUCL? The installation instructions for McCLIM speak about
asdl, and 
this chokes MCUCL immediately. I have just installed version
19c.

Any pointers helpful for a lisp newbie appreciated.

I think gmane works.

I haven't built McCLIM in a while, but it wasn't difficult. 
It works
pretty well with asdf (www.cliki.net/asdf), so be sure to
get that.
Alternatively, it also worked with mk:defsys
(clocc.sourceforge.net)
so you could use that too.

What doe you mean by chokes?  Assuming you have correctly
installed
ASDF, you can build McCLIM from source by evaluating:

  (asdf:operate 'asdf:load-op :mcclim)
