So what do you all think of a ban to eliminate droopy drawers

I just read this article today:

http://www.msnb
c.msn.com/id/20500607/

NEW ORLEANS - Hike up those pants. Droopy drawers that bare
skin or
underwear might soon be forbidden fashion on the streets of
two Louisiana
towns, and violators could be forced to part with some
cash.

"I'm tired (of) looking at behinds," Shreveport
Councilwoman Joyce Bowman
said after Tuesday's 4-3 vote to ban fanny-flaunting
trousers.

Nobody can be arrested just for violating the ordinance, but
they could be
fined or required to perform community service. The maximum
fine for a first
offense is $100.

Alexandria's City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to ban
the baring. Its
ordinance allows some sag, but 3 inches or more can bring a
fine of $25 to
$200 and a requirement for community service.

If the mayors of Shreveport and Alexandria sign the
ordinances, they will
bring Louisiana's total to at least six, with at least two
more cities
considering bans.

Elsewhere, Atlanta's City Council has held a hearing on a
measure to outlaw
saggy pants that reveal shorts or thongs.

A similar proposal in Stratford, Conn., was soundly rejected
this week after
critics argued it would be unconstitutional and unfairly
target minorities.

Some opponents cite other objections.

"Are you going to have a 'sagging' court?" Michael
Williams asked
Shreveport's council. "The police have more important
things to do than
chase young boys and girls and say 'pull your pants
up."'

Personally I think that it is a good idea. I don't know why,
but every time
I stand in line at the grocery store or the mall and there
is one of these
kids showing most of their underwear, I just want to slap
the shit out of
them. I am sure that some will argue that it is
unconstitutional or stifles
freedom of expression or some bullshit like that, but I feel
this is not so
much freedom of expression as it is obscene. So what do you
all think? Are
people allowed to run around showing off their ass or
underwear?

Bruce

fuck me...don't they a have a fucking city to rebuild? what
a colossal
waste of time and energy, not to mention that it is pretty
much trampling
all over the constitutional rights of people.

Fashions change man.

I don't understand how my parents dressed, and I'm sure I
won't like some of
the things my kids want to wear.

It's about free choice. Government has no business telling
people how to
dress.

This quote got to me right here... screw you. I'm tired of
a lot of things as well. She didn't say
"offended" or "hurt" or anything that
would actually warrant some action... no, she's
"tired".

Maybe it's because she's so tired that she can't keep her
eyes at, you know - eye level?

I think it looks stupid. I'm tired of it. But dammit -
welcome to America where dumbass idiots can walk around with
their underwear hanging out.

(Although I almost gaurantee if this spreads that the jeans
designers will just come up with a design that looks like
underwear is hanging out... but isn't.)

The hilarious part of this who fashion trend is the type of
underwear such
individuals are wearing. White boxers that cost $1 for a set
of 3 at
Walmart. I mean if your going to show your drawers, make
them some designer
shit.
