It was clearly implied that if even his loving grandmother
was racist we all must be.

Why bring his daughters to him if he wanted change? Why not
talk to the Preacher and start where it matters the most,
with the guy that's lecturing his kids?

Amazing that you equate "understanding" with
"excusing". Did you
conveniently ignore the entire section where he suggested
that african
americans need to rise above the culture of victimhood that
can arise from
the history of slavery? That they must be responsible for
themselves and for
their families TODAY? The slavery of the past is a reality
that shouldn't be
ignored...but it can't be used as an excuse for the present
or the future.

But hey, you can ignore that part if it makes you feel
better.....we'll
pretend he didn't say that.
