The one in the largest church in the city here sure does.
His sermons are
televised too.

I stopped to listen one day while I was flipping channels
and listened to
the man spend 30 minutes spouting his political views
concerning some
alcohol vote thing that was coming up. I kept waiting for
the tie in with
something or other from the bible, but nothing. He was just
trying to
convince the congregation to vote his way. I don't know
about hate
mongering as I refused to ever watch him again.

You know, I have been thinking about it a bit and I don't
really think I
would care so much if my preacher came out with some off the
wall 'taboo'
crazy ideas. That preacher is not me. I am not defined by
what that
preacher believes. I am defined by what I choose to take
from what that
preacher teaches and by how I apply those teachings to my
life. Along the
same lines, I don't care if his preacher has some very
negative ideas about
certain races and cultures. All I care about is whether
Obama only chose to
take the positive teachings and incorporate them into his
life, which, from
that speech, it seems he has. That may be a bit naive, but
it makes sense
to me.
