I'm not saying everyone should move, but that's definitely
what I would do.
I might sue to protect my interests later, but the first
order of business
would be getting the hell out.
As to "having no place to go", whatever. As you
noted, there are no customs
checkpoints between the states, people can go wherever they
want. If they
choose not to leave, that's their choice.
