I just set the PS close enough to power up the 
system to test it. I have several old PS here, one 135 watt jobbie, that will 
power up a mobo and a new known good that I use to test a machine. I've got a 
scrap piece of plexiglas that I use to make a shelf to hold the PS while the 
machine is lying on it's side. So far no problems with the cables reaching but 
sometimes it's close !
