I have an WD 40GB drive and an 80GB drive. I have WinXP Pro and both drives WERE FAT32 until I started trying to clone the 40GB over to the 80GB to make the 80GB my C: drive and install my Samsung 200GB. I've tried the "tools" CD that comes with the Western Digital drives, but once I disconnect the 40GB drive, it wont boot the 80GB, even though the data structures, size, and files/folders count is all exactly the same when it's done. I dont want to have to reload everything & set it back up COMPLETELY again, unless thats the only option. I have an old copy of PowerQuest Drive Copy, but I dont think it'll work for these size of drives. Do I need to have the 80GB now be NTFS, or can I leave it intact "as it is" or what? Any ideas, including possible software solutions, are appreciated.
