Bob, look in the files section at the folder "FH835S Modifications" and
you will see photos of the latch modification I did. The last two
photos (3 & 4) are from the bottom of the carrier and #3 is with the
latch open and #4 with the latch closed.

I did this modification using brass tubing, brass rod, and epoxy. I
soldered a short piece of the brass rod on the end of the sliding rod
to be available on the top for opening and closing the latch. I have
not had a problem with the holder opening in the scanner since this
modification.
