Hi,
With the help of Michael (thanks again for your support), I
have been
running some conversion tests with a 11G repository having
around 1500
symbols (tags and branches).
I've been running conversion successfully (and within
reasonable time)
until I hit pass6.
One of the first attempts at pass6 was with the 2.0rc1 and
2.0 release.
But even after running for a whole week (pass1 took 24h), it
hadn't
finished. Pass6 conversion was at about one third trough
pass6.
Michael send me a patch, which I applied and ran with a
revision between
2.0 release and r4000 (something like 3991)
With this version I could get past a critical point and
reached ~4.5G
(of 11G).
However later versions, starting approximately after r4009 I
experienced
the out of memory issues mentioned in the subject. Running
4054 (with
and without Michaels patch) would crash after converting
2.9G.
My last attempt was with r4081, which also died with a
Memory Error
after 2.9G
So I'm not sure what can be concluded. Either a bug has been
introduced
in a 4000 revision, or the recent changes made cvs2svn more
dilligent
and in turn, it had more data to handle that was missed
before.
