Hi !
There has been a while since I was reading the list, but a
customer of mine
has asked me for help upgrading his dhcp-servers that is
running failover.
He is running a small ISP that needs redundancy to deliver
professional
services to his customers, hence a failover-solution.
The problem with the existing solution is :
- There is no automatic failover if one of the servers is
going down, he
manually has to put the remaining server into "partner
down" state.
- Using public ip's it is not an option having 50% free
addresses to allow
one of the servers go down.
As far as I understand this is how failover works also in
the current
release.
Is it possible to implement a configurable
"auto-partner-down-state=0/1"
??
As far as I understand this would really improve this
otherwise excellent
piece of software.
What is the point of a failover-system as long as it is
manual ?
Best regards,
Johan Henęs
