/etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf
send host-name "andare.fugue.com";

Is there some way to make that pickup the current hostname?

something like:

send host-name $HOSTNAME;
send host-name $(hostname);
send host-name (include /etc/hostname);

Or...

In ubuntu (debian), how can I keep the box's hostname and
what the dhcp client
sends to the server in sync?

Now that my dhcp server is doing ddns updates, I would like
the hostname of the
dhcp client be what gets used.

Not yet, it's on the feature request list.
