Hi Amresh,

Have a look at dhcrelay, which is a relay agent for DHCP and
part of
the ISC dhcpd package.

Most routers, and a lot of switches, also provide dhcp relay
functionality. For example in Cisco switches and routers it
is called
"ip helper".

I don't think that is what Amresh is looking for. As I read
it, what
he wants is to be able to run a 'dhcp server' that he can
configure
to provide all the options he needs etc, but which obtains
the actual
client address from an upstream server.

I know that the bootp relay in Cisco kit doesn't have that
flexibility, I don't think dhcrelay does either.
