Do you mean ADO.NET? And it was "much faster"
compared to what, though? CF 4
or 5 using ODBC? Or the Enterprise drivers those had? Or
CFMX 6 or 7's JDBC
drivers? Against what database? And if on CFMX, note that a
problem may have
been in the JDBC drivers (from Merant), which were older
ones for quite a
while (not even upgraded in CF7), though could be upgraded
manually and are
upgraded in CF8?

Also, sometimes in a conversion from CF to something else,
there's a lot
more that changes than just the DBMS. For instance, might
the .NET code have
leveraged more query caching? CF could do that, but many
CFers miss it. Are
you really comparing apples and apples?

Nathan,

Addressing your ADO and session comments.
I work on a top 10 Internet site (multiple Gpbs)..that
converted from CF.

I assure you that ADO is much faster and the session
management is extremely
robust.
