What is the advantage of doing it that way? (I'm relatively
new to Endnote).
What kind of unexpected things happen with CWYW or why would
you want to do it differently with Word?
Thanks,

I've been teaching EndNote at UC Davis for several years. I
long ago
decided, as several on this list have, that CWYW is more
trouble than it's
worth. I normally don't even use Word as my word processor
(I prefer Nisus
Writer for the Mac). So long as one saves one's document as
an RTF
file--the default in Nisus--one can do anything that CWYW
offers. It's
more manual, but less likely to produce unpleasant
surprises.
Among the thousands of students, faculty and staff who have
passed through
my classes, I've yet to encounter a single person who does
*not* use
Microsoft Word. I'd love to tell those in my classes that
there's a better
way, but I doubt anyone would listen, just as I doubt anyone
would hear
what I say about the advantages of using filters over
connection files to
import citations. :-
