v3 & 4 produce different error message on versions 7 & 9

I  am hoping for some advice on a problem I have
encountered, while
attempting to import records from the Factiva database.

In versions 3 & 4 of Endnote, I receive the error
message:

"Windows ran out of memory. Consider closing unused
Endnote windows,
exiting other programs or, as a last resort, restarting
windows."

When I tried to import the same file using v 7 & 9, I
received the
following message:

"The Import data file chosen is incompatible with the
specified Import
Option"

There are 4 files when this happens out of a 40.


A visual scan of one of these files does noy\t reveal
anything
particularly out of the ordinary.

Any advice on what might be the problem would be much
appreciated.
