We have an Endnote 9 network installation (9.01) with client
machines
running Windows 2000. When you open the Endnote plug-in in
Word and try
to insert the first citation then Endnote hangs with 100%
CPU load. The
period seems to vary from one machine to another and in the
worst cases
is up to 20 minutes. Thereafter things seem to be OK until
the next time
you open up Word and Endnote anew. Anyone seen anything like
this or can
suggest why? We tried upgrading Word from XP to 2003 but it
made no
difference. Although we are not entirely sure, it seems to
affect only
the network install which is copied on a Linux Samba share
addressed as
\\fileserver\share.
