I believe the sort is based on the first author then their
initials (and
if there are some refs with just first initial, or (horrors)
where the
two initials aren't separated by a space, and two initials,
they are
sorted alpha), and then by the second author, etc, before
the year kicks
in? I don't remember anywhere that the library window sort
criteria can
be altered?
To illustrate, the same reference entered with these two
authors (each
author on a separate line ala endnotes' requirements). If
each is
assigned a different year, they will still sort in this
order,
irrespective of year.

Subject: Author and year sort
This question has come from a Endnote Mac user.
When the reference library is sorted by name, they
apparently should
be secondly sorted by Year automatically. This does not
occur for all
authors eg Smith will sort 2005 1st then 2004 then 2003,
while Brown
will sort 2003 first, then 2004, then 2005.
Can any one give me instructions on how to rectify this so
they all
sort the same way?
Many Thanks
Kathy
