How are other universities (or other agencies) making
connection files
available to users?
At my university there is an issue with distributing
password
information. One concern is that users will have access to
subscription
databases after they are no longer affiliated with the
university or
that connection files could be shared with non-affiliated
users.
There are a number of options and viewpoints for addressing
some issues
such as putting the connection files on a password-protected
site (then
only affiliated users can copy the files) or the
consideration that
users *could* share they own password that is required to
access library
databases from off campus (so there's already a way that
non-affiliated
users could get access to the databases).
An unrelated question about the email list--should both of
the
following addresses be used to send email to the list?
