electronic resources

I'm having mixed success correctly formating online
references using the
e-journal and e-book templates in Endnote (v. 8).  Is the
problem with
inputting or with the output styles (I've used The Lancet
and ASM style
manual)? Would it be better if I created my own templates
& output
styles.
