Some comments/criticisms/suggestions about EndnoteX

On the whole, I like Endnote X. We upgraded precisely
because of the PDF
linking facility. But I have a few critical
comments/suggestions:

1. In earlier versions, in the reference window, I could use
Alt-N to
jump to the 'reference type' window so as to quickly change
the
reference type. This Alt-N facility is no longer enabled in
EndnoteX. So
I have to use the mouse every time.

2. If I open the Help window, and then later I click on some
other
window (e.g., the library itself), the help window does not
go away or
get minimized automatically (as it happens in other
programs, AND used
to happen in earlier versions of Endnote itself). This is a
real
nuisance!

3. "Link to PDF" is a great feature. But a. If I
link to an html file,
the icon within the reference window does show an 'html
file' icon (as
against a pdf icon). But when I close the reference window,
the library
window shows a pdf icon against the reference. This is a bit
misleading.
b. That I can link non-pdf files using the "Link to
PDF" feature is
something I found out very late. I suggest renaming this
feature to
"Link to document" or something like that.
c. There is no equivalent to the Ctrl-G command ('open URL')
to quickly
open the PDF file that has been linked.
d. There is a facility to link multiple PDFs under link to
pdf, but the
'open' command only opens the first one of them. Why should
it not offer
the list of pdfs linked and let us choose?
