I had a similar problem with Endnote 8 for PC. Although
every file was
in its place, the problem persisted. I did two things.
Since I am on a
network computer, I had to tell the IT expert run the patch
and obtain
some additional privilege (Like a Power User rights). If
you are on a
network computer, ask your IT to make you a power user and
then install
the Endnote X patch file.

Subject: Probs with CWYW (Endnote X) in Word 2004 for Mac
Hi,
I am having major problems with CWYW (Endnote X) in Word
2004 for Mac
(using OS X - 10.3.9).
So far, I have: updated Word, re-installed Endnote X, and
manually
installed CWYW.
When I open Word, the Endnote toolbar or options under Tools
do not
appear. The correct Endnote files are in the Word Startup
folder, and
this start up folder is selected in Preferences, but the
files do not
appear to be loading at start up.
When I open "templates and add-ins" I can see the
Endnote .dot file -
then when I check the box for this file, then Endnote X
appears in the
Tools menu. However, regardless of the option that I select
under Tools:
Endnote X, I am given this message:
Microsoft visual basic
run time error '5':
Invalid procedure call or argument
And nothing happens.
I was using Endnote 8 with Word and this was working
perfectly fine.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Nathalie
