EndNote X crashes on "show preview" in Search results Window

(using EndNote X with Windows XP; message also sent to
EndNote technical
support -- I'll share results if I hear back with a fix and
anyone is
interested.) 
This morning I executed a PubMed search. I wanted to look at
one of the
retrieved articles before copying it to my library, so I
clicked "Show
Preview" at the bottom of the Search window. End Note
hung, then
crashed. 
As an experiment, I tried clicking "Show Preview"
even before I had done
a search. Same crash. I also tried after a doing a search in
the the
Library of Congress. Again, same crash. 
Has anyone experienced this before? If so, is there a fix?
