I've been experiencing a similar problem with version 7. I
have a copy on my home machine, which continues to import
the source field correctly parsed. My work machine does
not. I've thoroughly uninstalled, and reinstalled, updated
filters.
Save in Medlars/Reprint works fine.
I have seen that particular problem of dumping everything in
one reference - that I fixed by changing the filter Record
Layout to Smart Record identification.

Subject: EndNote 7 (also 9) and Direct Export from OVID
Medline
All:
This one really has me stumped. When using version 7 and
Direct Export
from OVID Medline, all of the source information (journal,
volume, issue,
pages, year, and date) are all going into the
Journal/Secondary field. I
had FTP'd a filter from Endnote.com with a 2/6/06 date,
which was working
but while teaching a patron earlier this month found the
"newer" 2/10/06
and downloaded it at that time. I've been in contact with
OVID and we
tried to figure out what was happening (I tried it on a
laptop which has
version 9 on it and there was no problem. I've
un-installed, shut down
completely and re-installed EndNote 7 and the issue is still
the same). The
OVID Tech Support could not reproduce the phenomena, even
when they
un-installed 9 and installed 7. Now, during a one-on-one
training session
yesterday, I've discovered it can also happen with version
9. We tried
the "Save in Reprint/Medlars format and then
Import" route and all the
references went into one reference! (all the authors, all
the titles, etc
in the appropriate fields). I'm stumped! Does any one
have any clues as
to what's going on? Does any one have any idea or solution
to this?
I appreciate any suggestions or ideas.
