In the process of setting up and testing EndNote X1 using a
volume
license edition we encountered the following:
Operating environment:
Windows XP
Word 2002 SP3
EndNote X1
Using CWYW to insert a figure in a document we received the
following
error msg: 'An unknown error occurred'.
The figure appears in the document, but is then deleted when
you attempt
to 'Generate the figure list'.
The computers in question had previously had EndNote X
installed, but
this was removed before the installation of EndNote X1. In
one case we
also deleted user preferences in Documents & settings /
Application
Data, and removed EndNote from the Windows registry entry
for ISI, but
this mad no difference.
We also tried removing a previous Word plugin for ProCite in
case there
was conflict between the two, but this also made no
difference.
The same EndNote X1 installation with Word 2007 works
perfectly with no
error msg.
