Caroline, greetings from the USA! (I've been to
'OZ'--Melbourne, and
loved it!)
Check "templates and add-ins" (near the bottom
of tools menu in Word)
Get a window that shows a box for "currently loaded
templates and
add-ins" or similar name.
(also a check button to automatically update document
styles)
See the EN files you mention are listed there and be sure to
check them.
If not there, use the add button to find them on your hard
drive--same with the template.
Check the auto update button only if your template is
different, and
your doc should immediately update.
Then go back through the process again and UNCHECK the
update button,
else anything you do in your doc [e.g., bold some internal
text] will
try to make updates to your template!
At this point you can confirm if the loaded EN add-ins and
the
correct template are still checked.
You'll find EN now listed in your View->toolbars menu
and will be
able to select it to show the EN buttons in your active
toolbar.
One EN file is to see the toolbar, the other to make it
functional.
Maybe this will help? -Donna

Subject: Trouble getting CWYW in word for mac
Hi:
I am new to this list. I have joined because I am having no
end of trouble
getting endnote 9.0 to get CWYW working with Word 2004
version 11.2.3
Word was installed prior to Endnote. I downloaded the office
update (10.1.2
- - actually downloaded 11.2.3) from the web as per the
recommendations in the
manual. I also deleted Endnote 8.0 as per instructions in
the "read me" text
file.
I have assigned my Word startup file to
/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Office/Startup/Word/
(this was assigned before installing endnote 9.0 as per the
manual)
And 2 files are now installed there:
Endnote 6 CWYW word 2004
and
Endnote 6 CWYW commands.dot
The endnote template file is also installed under:
/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Template
My libraries are OK and Endnote is running, but there is no
evidence of CWYW
in the tools drop down menu in word, nor is the endnote
toolbar available. I
have tried re-installing endnote 9.0 to no avail.
Sorry if this question is posted all the time - I am not
sure how to search
the archives. Any advice would be really appreciated - I am
trying to submit
a PhD thesis and have had no end of trouble with endnote 8.0
crashing word.
I am at the point of re-intalling word X and running endnote
7 just to get
it finished, but am no doubt going to run into even more
dramas.
Cheers,
Caroline
