Endnote 7 & SP3 for Word 2003

Dear All,
A PhD student close to submitting his thesis has alerted me
to a
frustrating bug with EndNote 7. He believes it is caused by
a recent MS
Update, possibly SP3 for Word 2003. The bug arises at
present if the
user seeks to adjust the bibliography Layout, and then
reformats the
bibliography. He has tested this on a number of computers,
and it is
highly reproducible. The symptom is the appearance of a set
of centred
linefeed characters above the bibliography. He has contacted
both MS and
EndNote, but at present without resolution.

Has anyone else seen this problem? Any clues as to the
cause? Any
suggestions on how to advise him?
