Okay, so i made a good backup and dove into Leopard this
evening. I saw
that Rockefeller University is reporting that Endnote X1 is
not
compatible with Leopard, but no explanation of what is
wrong. I
launched Word and saw the endnote toolbar. The endnote app
launched
from the toolbar with no problem. I opened up a manuscript
with 75
references. The references were displayed properly in the
document.
I chose "Unformat citations" - this operation was
successful. I then
had Endnote reformat the citations, which mostly worked.
The progress
bar seemed to hang about 5 times during the reformatting,
but because i
get impatient about these things, i started clicking in the
progress bar
box and the reformatting immediately continued (This could
have been a
coincidence).
Then I closed the document and opened a blank document,
typed some stuff
and drag+dropped some refs from the endnote window into the
document,
which worked as usual. I then formatted the document and
the references
were created properly.
I did some searches for references using Endnote and
everything seemed
normal.
I am happy to report that Endnote X1 seems to be working
for me. I am
using a 2.4 GHz MacBookPro with MacOS X 10.5.
