The procedure is described in the "Help" section
under "Sharing Your
Reference Type Table." I've done it successfully
several times. For
your own migration purposes, it doesn't matter that it
overwrites
existing (default) preferences, but it's good to remember to
rename the
existing preferences if you're collaborating with someone!

Subject: moving preferences to a new computer
I am moving Endnote X1.0.1 to a new computer (both are
Windows XP), but
I can't figure out how to move my preferences. I recall in
the past
having to move a particular file from the old to the new
computer, but I
can't find anything like that in the manual. I moved my
Endnote files
and the custom styles I use without any problem.
