Endnote Library
Forgive me, I meant the "Cell" journal style
supplied with Endnote. You
adjust this from the Edit, style toolbar options.
I meant the person whose name the CV is being produced for.
"my
library" and "my name" were meant to be
their library and their name...
I am assuming that they have a library which includes all
the papers
they have published, which they would like included in the
CV. Otherwise
you could do the search on Medline, for example, and weed
out those that
aren't their own papers, and copy them into a dedicated
library.
It is also possible that they might want a true,
chronological list of
their papers, in which case you might assign a custom field
to a Number.
(editing custom fields is done thru the edit preferences
menu -
reference types. All my papers have a historical number
based on the
order they came out (from the days I typed in the references
from my CV.
I would then use that number and sort on that custom field,
rather than
on year. Now that I have a long list in my CV, what I do is
"copy
formatted" the newest publication and paste that into
my CV, which
automatically generates the newest number via Word settings.
Does all that help?
Leanne

Library
Thanks, Leanne.
Please forgive my current naivety (new to the Endnote user
language).
What is the "cell" format? You mean what I'd
call the "field" format
(i.e. author, title, etc.)?
Also, when you say "Do a search on my library for my
name", are you
saying to literally do that with your library, or are you
figuratively
referring to the person's library that I'm using to
produce the CV?
Best, -Shelee

I just open the Cell format, and edit it to show all authors
and
editors, never truncate (the "if more than"
options under authors and
editors in bibliography), and sort on year not on Author,
number them
(if you want) and "save AS" CV.
Do a search on my library for my name, select all and
control (or apple)
K (copy formated), paste into the CV (or export to file). If
you want
to, you can then search for your name and replace it with
"bolded"
version.

Has anyone created a CV from an Endnote library?
What suggestions can you offer?
