Managing the location of fulltext documents in my Endnote 9 library

I do use the label field to keep track of where the article
is located
(az file, electronic full text, link to the relevant data
base, library,
etc.). You could then add the label field to the library
display, and
sort on that field to find all of the items located in a
particular place.

I don't know anything about an automatic entry, though. I
just note
that I have an electronic full-text file (whether .pdf or
.doc or .txt
or .html), and I keep all of those alphabetically on my hard
drive, just
as I keep my hard copy articles in an A-Z file in my
old-fashioned
physical filing cabinet.

this clear. At the moment, most of my database falls into
category 2, that is, I have the pdf and I have attached it
as an image (rather than link to pdf which means links are
severed if I decide to move my data files, which I will do
eventually). I have the image field shown in display fields
so I can see whether I have the pdf or not. But image field
won't display anything but the paperclip - thus can't use
that to denote that I have the fulltext via other means.

label) with text categories to denote this - is there an
automatic way of getting all articles with attached images
(ie. pdfs) to show the text "attached pdf or other
doc" in the label field? Or do I have to manually
enter this?
