I'm running MS Office 2003 and Endnote 9 (WinXP Home
edition, on a very recent
notebook) and I am a totally new Endnote user.
From the very first moment I started using Endnote, Word
would freeze everytime
I:
* added a reference
* deleted a reference
* opened a file which contained alreadey references
With the freezing time varying from 5 minutes to even 40
minutes! Also
scrolling through the file results in a freeze when the
cursor hits a reference.
You can imagine this is very frustrating and time
consuming...
Is there anything I can do to solve this problem?
I'm experiencing a second problem since yesterday (and I
don't know what caused
it): I opened a file with already about 50 references in it,
and every
reference seemed to be replaced by the entire code (turning
a file of 17 pages
into one of 60 pages)and the reference list a the end of the
file had
disappeared.
I can turn them back into the usual reference by
right-clicking on each
individual bunch of code that is representing a reference
and choosing "other
fieldreproduction" (or something like that, the
right-click-menu is in Dutch)
But I have to do that manually, one by one, and when I save
the document
afterwards, close it and open it again, it's all gone and
back to the "code-
mode"
How did this happen, and even more important: how can I turn
the whole thing
back to normal again?
The first problem was already bad enough, but I am getting
really desperate
with the second problem coming on top of it and a deadline
coming really close.
I hope someone can help me out and I am already very
greatful to everyone who
took the time to read this through and think about a
possible solution!
