Hi,
I am brand new to this list and have just migrated my two
Reference Manager
databases to EndNote 9 libraries for Macintosh. In Reference
Manager (for
Windows) I was able to keep the two databases individually
configured, with
different field names etc. by using separate Windows user
profiles, but in
EndNote I seem to be stuck with the same structure for both
databases
(libraries). I have searched the EndNote knowledge base and
the archives of
this list for suggestions but the only thing I found was
this question from
2001:
"Can you modify Display Fields for individual
Libraries?
Hi
I wonder if anyone can help with this ...
The "display fields" dialog
(Edit>Preferences>display fields) appears to
have an application-wide effect, making it impossible to
arrange for
individual Libraries to have their own sets of (five)
headings for display
in the library window.
Have I missed something? If this is true, it seems to
seriously limit the
flexibility of EndNote for display of data other than
standard reference
types.
Thanks for any assistance.

There were no comments or answers to this question but
perhaps someone has
come up with a solution since 2001.
If it is not possible to maintain individual library
structures, would
running different profiles in OS X solve the problem? If
this does not
work, I think the last solution would be to keep one of the
libraries under
Windows/Virtual PC.
Many thanks for any help you may provide.
