How to access Addressbook from python or c?

Hi,

I'm writting small python utility to fetch and synchronize
contacts from
cell phone over bluetooth. At this moment the utility is at
very early
stage and supports storing contacts to vcard file.

The built-in Contacts application is able to import, but not
to
synchronize, thus making duplicates.

I've tried to find information on addressbook in Developers
section, but
there are no information on this subject. Does anybody knows
if
documentation/examples are available in SDK?

Its using evolution-data-server so it would be the same as
accessing
e-d-s from a standard desktop.
http://www.g
nome.org/projects/evolution/ would be a starting point.
