Userscripts.org Performance

Ugh. So most of you have probably noticed us.o has several
issues right now:

1. Errors.
2. Performance.

As Jesse mentioned in an earlier email these are due to a
combination
of fcgi stalling out (behind lighttpd and litespeed).

Mongrel, developed by Zed Shaw as an alternative to scgi
(which isn't
actively being developed right now) is stable for about
30min, before
raising application errors which disappear on restart.

Right now, I'm suspicious of our server. As a temporary
solution I am
proxying to another server, but due to the need for some
database
upgrades, things are very slow, but at least running.

We hope to have this fixed up in the next week or so. Thanks
for
everyone being so patient! I know things with the site are
rocky now,
but improvements are coming soon.

Hey Lukas,

Thanks for the interest! The server issues should hopefully
be resolved shortly.

Regarding the code, absolutely. As soon as we clean a few
more things
up we're going to re-open the SVN repository, have some
feature
hackfests, etc.
