Trying to select all checkboxes

Hi,

I have a page from the News search (proprietary behind the
password, so I
cannot send URL here; or, rather URL is useless for you),
where I would
like to check all checkboxes for articles as selected. The
problem is that
checkbox is not only checkbox, but it runs a Javascript
(onClick="...").

Attempt for my GM script is on

Unfortuantely, when I
run the script (the button is created all right), I get
error in JavaScript

All checkboxes get greyed out, but apparently nothing is
really selected
(when I return to this page, nothing is marked as checked --
which it is
when clicking "manually").

Using Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.4 with latest GM and
Debian/unstable.

Any ideas, what I am doing wrong?
