Richard,

You're welcome. Per most of my "discoveries", I figured it out purely
by accident.

Too often, when I post to a forum, the post fails and everything I've
typed is lost (I take too long to compose my submission, and the forum
logs me out due to perceived inactivity). So, I've been in the habit
of selecting the entire text of my submission, CTRL+C to copy it to
the clipboard, then click the forum's submit button. If the post
fails, since the text has been copied to the clipboard, I can just get
back to where I was in the forum, paste the text and click the submit
button, saving me from having to reconstruct what was written and
lost.

On one occasion, I selected the text and before clicking submit, I
remembered that I forgot to run ieSpell. With the text still
selected, I ran ieSpell, and voila, it checked all of the selected
text and then gave me a pop-up asking "Finished checking the
selection. Do you want to check the rest of the document?"

Richard, All,

While this works fine for a single misspelled word (Sometimes
curiosity about the spelling of a particular word gets the best of me
and I have to settle its spelling before I can continue), here's how I
tend to make more practical use of this feature. When I submit to a
forum, and what I'm about to submit is a mixture of quoted text from
various previous submissions and my own writing, I can select only the
text of my own writing before using ieSpell. This lets ieSpell
concentrate solely on what I've written, leaving the quoted text
alone.

This would likely work just as well on an email system-web interface.
For example, a user is replying to an email, and the original sender's
text is included with the reply. The user could select the text of
his own writing before using ieSpell, saving the user from having to
repeatedly click the ignore button as ieSpell "wades" through the
original sender's included text. - Nice.

Regards,

Greg
