I was going by the doc at

I had thought that the NDSD_TRY_NMASLOGIN_FIRST option would
use UP but I
didn't know if it will use simple password if simple is
available and UP is
not. I'm glad you found your answer with
sasDefaultLoginMethod.

Yea, sorry. All I really should have said is "Don't
use the nmasbind.java
sample". Beyond that, for setup issues, Novell Tech

probably have better information than I do.
