Digital Publishing in Action: Dartmouth Launches online
Journal
of e-Media Studies.
Dartmouth College Library announces the launch of its latest
digital publication, The Journal of e-Media Studies
<http://jour
nals.dartmouth.edu/joems/>. Conceived of and edited
by Mark Williams, Associate Professor of Film and Television
Studies, this new on-line journal showcases the best new
scholarly work on current and historical issues regarding
electronic media. As an open access publication it is
available
without charge to anyone on the Internet.
"I'm delighted to have such a strong inaugural issue,
with a rich
mix of peer-reviewed essays, reviews and other
material" says
Mark Williams. "Our goal is to promote the academic
study of
electronic media, especially in light of the changes in
formal
and expressive capacities that the rise of digital media has
brought about. We welcome submissions for future
issues."
"The Dartmouth College Library is ambitious to support
Dartmouth
faculty as they explore innovative new forms of scholarly
communication and publishing," adds David Seaman,
Associate
Librarian for Information Management, "and we are
pleased to host
another electronic journal through the e-publishing platform
created by our Digital Library Technology Group." This
is the
third journal published by the Library; other online
journals
include Linguistic Discovery and Latino Intersections.
