You are right, there is not a DRM only solution.
You could do a per content credit based system, one of the
rules could be the duration of the movie (or content), if
you have sufficient credit you can view the content if your
credits are not enought you need to buy more credit.
Something like a prepaid system... a very old aproach.

Or you can implement metering (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb263186.aspx
) and relation this with the credit that the user have (I
don“t know if is possible).

DRM won't do Pay per minute, and won't disconnect a user
that has no money left. You have to do this with
authentication/authorization.

question

	        I am researching a pay-per-view plugin and couldn't
find a solution in the
	        server SDK.

	        The requirement:

	        1. authorize a player to watch a movie.
	        2. dictate how long the player can watch based on
the money lefted on the
	        account.

The first one can be easily done by using a custom
authorization plugin.
But I couldn't find a solution for the second one.
It seems wms don't
provide a handle for you to call back later to
disconnect a player.

	        Any suggestion?

	        Thanks.
