Dave Rolsky visit

As we discussed a few weeks ago, Dave Rolsky will be
visiting the area
the beginning of August and has offered to do a talk for us.
 Dave
will be around for about 10 days, but it looks like the best
time will
be the August 6-10.  Anyone have any preferences?  It would
be best to
do it on a day where we can get the room at ISI, but
otherwise I don't
care.

We also need to pick a topic for Dave's talk.  He gave 3
talks at YAPC
this year:

* Perl Modules for Exceptions, Logging, and Parameter
Validation
* Intro to Mason
* Perl DateTime Project.

in your
votes, and we'll ask Dave to do whichever one gets the most
votes.

Someone asked me offline about an August social meeting. 
I've been
waiting to get Dave's talk scheduled first to avoid a
conflict and
also to kind of space things out.  Since we'll be having a
tech
meeting the first week of August, maybe we could plan on a
social
meeting the week of August 20th?  I could do any day that
week except
Tuesday the 21st.

I'd prefer the 13th. And this would be my first meeting,
too!

I'd vote against that, only because I didn't realize that
Dave's
already given this talk to our group.  But that was back in
2003, so
maybe we have enough new people that it doesn't matter?

OK, I didn't realize that. Can I change my vote to
"Intro to Mason",  
then? I usually use CGI::Application and HTML::Template, so
it'd be  
nice to see another way to do it.

Arrrggg... I'll have family from out of town visiting on
both of those days.  I'll see if I can get away 

The "Intro to Mason" talk appeals to me although
my input
may be moot.
