You might need to do more than that.
You need to also disable the dragging event, so people cannot drag the picture out of your page and into a local folder. Also for IE users you need to disable the image toolbar with <META HTTP-EQUIV="imagetoolbar" CONTENT="no">
Still, this is just going to slow down a user from getting your files, so far there is no bullet-proof method of absolutely protecting your images from being downloaded to a local drive.

But once the page is loaded then you can do File->save as and then look
in the directory where your browser has saved the images.
So watermarking is probably the only way to be safe.
