I'm really sorry for your life storry and I'm ready to give
you a hand, so I will contact you directly at your email if
you don't mind.
But before that, you might want to try the new 1.91-beta8
which includes a nice installer to do all this stuff for
you, like changing permissions and such. All you need is to
specify the right ftp login data in the first page of the
setup and the according correct data for db connection, in
the 3rd page. Make sure you created a database first from
cpanel, then keep into account, if the db name is
"something", you will use with a leading extra
word like this: "tamicraft_something", where
"tamicraft" is the actual cpanel username you
login with. Same for the database username you created
(tamicraft_username).
As for chnging attributes/permissions, please just delete
your entire folder where you uploaded 1.90 files and upload
form scratch the new files from beta. (you could just upload
and overwrite all the files, as the installer cleans up
itself the files that have been deprecated/removed/moved in
the last version, but I don't want to get you more
confused). I wrote this mostly for other people coming here
and looking for the same solution. But I'll be with you in a
minute.

I am trying to set up a website to help families in the
local area who have special needs children, specifically
Cerebral Palsy. My daughter has CP and through contacts at
therapy and elsewhere we have found a lot of people haven¢t
a clue as to where to get services or they just have things
they want to share or gripe about. A friend who also has a
child with severe CP has formed a family support group with
about 15 parents attending. I was hoping to get a website up
with Chat and a BBS service so that questions could be
answered and they would have a place to talk and or bitch
about the way things are.
I downloaded phpmychatplus v 1.9 from sourceforge.net
I followed the install instructions to the letter and was
able to get to step 7 though I did not know what was
required in step 5. I wound up just entering 777 at the top
front of the pages. I got an error when attempting step 7
in the install documentation. I read all the FAQ¢s and
searched sourceforge.net, went to http://plus.gamedogs.com/ the site of the person who wrote this and now am here on
yahoo groups. I still haven¢t found an answer.
I would like to get a chat page as well as a bulletin
board up so that the families here in our local area can
have a place to vent as well as exchange information.
I have been using my website at .tamicraft.com to
experiment before uploading the new site. The Tamicraft site
is due to expire on 22 Dec 2007 I was hoping to have the new
site ready to replace it.
I know a little html and no php so I really am lost.

5. Change Attributes to 777 for these files/folders:

I wound up just entering 777 at the top front of the
pages. This seemed wrong at least on the html pages as 777
appeared in the window.
Step 7. I get:

I tried reentering the data several times but I either did
not have it correctly formatted or there is another
problem.
I do have the data files in place and I did copy the 16
files and they are there in the data section.
I¢ve been working on this off and on for several days now.
Any help would be appreciated.
