Welcome to 2007!

We are back in the office ready to work. There will be about
a week's
delay until I can start hammering on 1.0 again. Short term
goals are the
following:

1) Versioning for Web Pages
2) Global user log-in for branches
3) Anonymous submission rights for calendar and blog

My longer term goal is to rewrite the Form Generator for
1.0.

The week delay will allow me to catch up on work lost from
our
development server crash. On the plus side since so much
data had to be
recreated, Kevin implemented Subversion to replace CVS. He
should have
the details of that soon.

Best regards,
Matt

Cool

A couple thoughts... When doing this, try to keep it
configurable as
an opt-in if possible. What I mean is that in the old Single
Sign On
hack, it is possible for any given branch to use the hub
user db (or
not) and it is possible to use a group to restrict any admin
privs to
(for any given branch). I have found these pretty useful.

I suspect this will lead to a couple minor core changes in
Categories
that I need for my own mods. I'll touch on this in another
letter, in
a moment.

Cool... a minor request or two... could the sender address
(form
results on submission) be configurable? formswww.domain.com has been
a PIA. And, it would be handy to have some sort of standard
e-mail
field that could be included in a form, that if used would
a) have a
little bit of verification on it (a regex for valid
structure would
be fine) and b) be used as the from address when sending
form results.

My first job this year is sticking many of the features I
stuck in
Announce for 0.10.x into Blog so it can be used as a
multi-user blog
system including personal blog list pages, archives and
promoting
blogs to the front page. And image uploads.
