Edit images isn't working - 1 new

Hi! When I add images to a page, GPC uploads them in the
smallest format and 
won't let me enlarge them via the 'edit images' link.
Instead, I get an error 
message on the bottom of the page. Also, once I publish such
a page, the 
images on it can't be enlarged by clicking on them, either.
Any suggestions?
