This sounds like Bug 733804 ("OR of two inmeta range
terms returns no
results if meta content uses fixed point notation").
Can you confirm
that the meta tags you are searching over have the format:
<META NAME="myValue"
VALUE="20.0">
rather than:
<META NAME="myValue" VALUE="20">
